The Support of the Change
Engineering Change Support is the support of the technical change: the tools, the processes and the services that carry the change management. ECS is the scaffolding of the change process – the infrastructure that makes the changes manageable.
Why Changes Need Support
The change management is complex: requests, proposals, orders, notices – a flood of documents. The support systematizes the flood: databases, workflows, reports. Without the ECS, the changes drown in the paper.
ECS appears in this meaning mainly in development documentation. Together with the change family ECR, ECP, ECN and ECO, it forms the complete change management.
