The Digital Brain of the Engine

Full Authority Digital Engine Control is the digital engine control with full authority: the computer that controls the engine completely – from the start to the shutdown. FADEC is the revolution of the propulsion – the chip that replaced the hydromechanical control.

Why Full Authority Is Full

The FADEC decides everything: the fuel flow, the turbine temperature, the thrust limit. The pilot commands, the computer executes – and protects the engine from the overload. The efficiency rises, the maintenance falls, the safety increases.

FADEC appears in this meaning constantly in engine documentation. Together with FABITAL (the failure bit), it forms the vocabulary of the digital engine control.
